Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is the most recent installment in the famous first-person shooter franchise, and has been both a critical and commercial success, albeit not without controversy. As with many online multiplayer games, Activision is continuing to update the game with seasonal content and the second season for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is now upon us. What have they added? What’s in store for Call of Duty fans this season? We’ve got the info for you right here.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 Updates

Activision posted a detailed blogpost about all the current and upcoming content in the Season 2 update. While there’s no confirmed date for the mid-season releases, players can expect new add-ons such as:

    • 6 new maps
    • At least 4 new multiplayer modes
    • 3 new operators
    • 3 new weapons
    • Mid-season tournaments

The Season 2 Call of Duty pass will be a hefty update; the file size depends on the platform the game is on, but it’s still over 50 gigabytes on PlayStation 4 while reaching 94 gigabytes on PC. Activision has said that if players want to fully experience Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, they will need at least 175 gigabytes of storage space. This has caused some backlash from fans as hard-drive space doesn’t come easily in the modern era of gaming.

There still may be more game modes on the way! According to Gamesradar, a map has been released which is widely considered to be the battle royale map for Modern Warfare. It’s expected that a battle royale mode will be announced mid-season, as Call of Duty: Black Ops IV featured a battle royale mode which was very popular.

Season 2 is now available for download.
