FaZe Clan is looking to scoop up the next big name quickly as they announce that Bronny James, the eldest son of NBA superstar LeBron James, has joined their squad.
On Sunday, FaZe posted an official statement on Twitter, alongside an introductory video, to show off James becoming part of the organisation; he’ll be known as “FaZe Bronny.”
The 15-year-old has been growing in the public eye recently, with highlights from his school games regularly appearing on ESPN. He is also already one of the more anticipated college recruit prospects for 2023.
Bronny James is also no stranger to competitive gaming, having played Fortnite with many notable content creators on FaZe such as Adapt and Apex, as well as other players.
The pickup by FaZe looks to be a strong one; Bronny has a bright future ahead of him as an athlete, and investing in his image early on will surely be a beneficial move for FaZe. It will also obviously be a good look to be associated with LeBron James, who is one of the most successful and popular athletes in the world.
It was a good choice for Bronny James as well, with FaZe Clan being one of the most reputable esports organisations around. The team has been around 10 years, fielding some of the most impressive first-person shooter squads around, and FaZe content creators have millions of followers.
FaZe Clan’s acquisition of Bronny is yet another big move in the world of esports involving popular athletes; NBA superstars continue to invest money into the industry as it exponentially grows, and organisations such as Rumble Gaming have aggressively invested in professional athletes for them to develop their gaming and content creating abilities.
It remains to be seen in what capacity Bronny James will work with FaZe, but for now we can relish in yet another popular pickup for FaZe Clan.
