In a recent Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced more details about the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate title. Amongst the many gameplay details, they revealed three new characters. Two of them, Ken Masters from Street Fighter, and Incineroar from the Pokemon universe, were pretty well received, and even expected. The last character, however was…unique, to say the least:
Needless to say, Smash fans were not expecting a random Mario enemy to become a fully-fledged character. People took to Twitter to announce their shock, surprise, anger, disbelief, and of course, their best memes.

Others were more receptive to the new character, with a hashtag #PlantGang popping up shortly after the Direct, full of people eager to use the new character. It also led to them roasting the salty fanboys, as well as supplying hilarious and flat-out filthy memes.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate comes out on December 7th, and we can expect more memes, ranging from hilarious to heartbreaking, at that time. May the ones that involve drawings be burned forever…
