Nintendo Of America President Is Stepping Down, To Be Replaced By Bowser

We have reached the worst timeline: Bowser owns Nintendo.

Indeed, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime is stepping down from his position after over a decade as one of the most iconic figures in video games. He is credited with helping evolve Nintendo’s image in America with his aggressive public relations approaches, and for helping put Nintendo in a strong position to continue its strong position in the increasingly competitive video game market.

Moreso than other figures, Fils-Aime has a strong connection with gamers and fans in the form of memes, having earned their respect in his first public appearance back in 2004 when he introduced himself with “My name is Reggie, I’m about kickin’ ass, I’m about takin’ names, and we’re about makin’ games.”

He then certified himself as a meme in 2007 when he was introduced to help demonstrate the Wii Balance Board. Before stepping it, he said “My body…my body is ready” which became a trademark phrase for him and the community at large.

Reggie’s last day will be on April 15th, 2019, and he will be replaced by none other than…Bowser.

That’s right, Doug Bowser will be the new president Nintendo of America, prompting a slew of hilarious memes all over social media. Bowser joined Nintendo in 2015 and has been a positive force for the company, being a key member of their growth since the Switch’s release. Whether or not this is an elaborate scheme to finally remove Mario from Nintendo products…we will have to wait and see.
