These 4 Sets Perfectly Showcase “Squad Strike” In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been a major hit, combining all of the old characters and classic modes with some new additions to try out. One of these new additions is the “Squad Strike” mode, which has you and your opponent pick your favorite character (either 3 or 5 of them) to use all in one match, each character taking up one stock. This opens up the gameplay by not only having to choose your character wisely, but to construct a team that can take down any opponent, and cover any weaknesses.

Sound epic? It is. This is why we’ve gathered four of the best, top-level Squad Strike matches, featuring professional Super Smash Bros. players. Check it out, and get hyped!

TempoStorm ZeRo vs. Hackoru

The legendary ZeRo is back out of retirement with Smash Ultimate, and he’s looking to reclaim his title as the best Smash player on the planet, and what better way to show off his mastery than this Squad Strike battle?

This set with streamer Hackoru showcases plenty of old characters in the series, as well as newcomer Chrom, who is considered to be one of the strongest characters in the game.

Rags vs. Seagull Joe

Seagull Joe and Rags are longtime competitors who have both seen their fair share of success. Seagulle Joe uses his longtime main, Wolf, as the anchor for his team, while Rags uses his Meta Knight. Along with each of them having a heavyweight character, this match has a little something for everyone.

Kaptain K. Rool vs. Edrees

This set features an old Smash legend in Edrees, a Peach main from years past. Peach makes his way onto his team, as well as Daisy (essentially a Peach clone) and Jigglypuff, making for a very light, but nonetheless very powerful team. His opponent is Kaptain K. Rool, who’s team is the exact opposite. Filled with three heavyweights in King K. Rool, Bowser, and Wario, this match is a perfect battle of featherweights vs. heavyweights.

WaDi vs. Dexter

While WaDi became a top professional using Mewtwo, he originally used R.O.B, and this character becomes the anchor for his team, which features a diverse cast of both popular and underused characters. With a worthy opponent in Dexter, who has his team loaded with Fire Emblem characters, you’re in for a treat with swords, lasers, and soccer balls. Could it be more fun?

Squad Strike might be able to carve out a niche in the competitive scene, potentially as a side event. The idea that you can fill an entire match with different characters and showcase new strategy and counterplay when creating teams make this a very appealing mode to try playing. Turn on that Switch and get striking!
